Zig Zag Ribs and
Flying Arches
When I began painting from snapshots of
my family and friends I thought long and
hard about why and where. I didn't want
these paintings to be about the reproduction
of source material, so decided to place
these Midwestern figures in environments
that are alien to their lives and in
relationships to the architecture that are
physically impossible.
Exhibited in "The Family: Emissaries,
Seductors, Martyrs and Saints" at
Rebecca Ibel Gallery, 2003; "Personal
Visions ll" at Richard M. Ross Art Museum,
2003; and "Linda Gall" at Art Center/South
Florida, 2003. |
